About

Alicia Burris is a certified math teacher specializing in working with students with learning disabilities and differences. She has taught math to students of all abilities and ages in public, private and homeschool settings for over 27 years.  Most recently, she worked with students in the greater Charlottesville, Virginia area from 2015-2022.  Alicia earned an excellent reputation in Virginia.  Many educational psychologists, including clinicians from the University of Virginia would refer students diagnosed with math learning disabilities for instruction with Alicia. Prior to living in Virginia, she spent 12 years teaching math in Vermont at the Stern Center for Language and Learning, a nationally-recognized, non-profit organization.  Alicia is returning to her beloved Vermont permanently in June, 2022.

Alicia is especially skilled at creating a safe and encouraging atmosphere where students are shown how to reach their full potential.  When Alicia is not teaching math, she enjoys reading, being outdoors, walking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
