Alicia Burris is a certified math teacher specializing in working with students with learning disabilities and differences. She has taught math to students of all abilities and ages in public, private and homeschool settings for over 26 years. She has worked with students in the greater Charlottesville, Virginia area since 2015. Prior to living in Virginia, she spent 12 years teaching math in Vermont at the Stern Center for Language and Learning, a nationally-recognized, non-profit organization that evaluates and provides customized one-to-one instruction for more than 900 children and adults each year, including those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, language disorders, autism, attention deficit disorders, and learning style differences.
Alicia is especially skilled at creating a safe and encouraging atmosphere where students are shown how to reach their full potential. When Alicia is not teaching math, she enjoys reading, being outdoors, playing tennis, traveling and spending time with her family.
